Deuteronomy 5:18
Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
Deuteronomy 22:23-24
If a damsel [that is] a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and
lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone
them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, [being] in the city; and the
man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.
Exodus 20:14
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Hebrews 13:4
Marriage [is] honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will
judge.
Job 24:15-17
The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and
disguiseth [his] face. In the dark they dig through houses, [which] they had marked for
themselves in the daytime: they know not the light. For the morning [is] to them even as the
shadow of death: if [one] know [them, they are in] the terrors of the shadow of death.
Leviticus 18:20
Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.
Leviticus 20:10
And the man that committeth adultery with [another] man's wife, [even he] that committeth
adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to
death.
Matthew 5:27-32
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say
unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her
already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee:
for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole
body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast [it] from
thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole
body should be cast into hell.
It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication,
causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth
adultery.
Micah 2:1
Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light,
they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
Proverbs 5:1-14
My son, attend unto my wisdom, [and] bow thine ear to my understanding: That thou mayest regard
discretion, and [that] thy lips may keep knowledge. For the lips of a strange woman drop [as] an
honeycomb, and her mouth [is] smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a
twoedged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. Lest thou shouldest
ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, [that] thou canst not know [them].
Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. Remove thy way
far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: Lest thou give thine honour unto others,
and thy years unto the cruel: Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours [be] in
the house of a stranger; And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; And have not obeyed the
voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me! I was almost in all
evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
Proverbs 5:15-23
Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. Let thy
fountains be dispersed abroad, [and] rivers of waters in the streets. Let them be only thine own,
and not strangers' with thee. Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
[Let her be as] the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and
be thou ravished always with her love. And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange
woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? For the ways of man [are] before the eyes of the
LORD, and he pondereth all his goings. His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he
shall be holden with the cords of his sins. He shall die without instruction; and in the
greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
Proverbs 6:24-33
To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Lust not
after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. For by means of a
whorish woman [a man is brought] to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the
precious life. Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon
hot coals, and his feet not be burned? So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever
toucheth her shall not be innocent.
[Men] do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; But [if] he be
found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house. [But] whoso
committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he [that] doeth it destroyeth his own
soul. A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.
Proverbs 25:19
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble [is like] a broken tooth, and a foot out of
joint.
Revelation 2:21-23
And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her
into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of
their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am
he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your
works.
