I Corinthians 10:6-14
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they
also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as [were] some of them; as it is written, The people sat
down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them
committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some
of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also
murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for
ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation
taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that
ye may be able to bear [it]. Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
Deuteronomy 8:11-15
Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments,
and his statutes, which I command thee this day: Lest [when] thou hast eaten and art full, and
hast built goodly houses, and dwelt [therein]; And [when] thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and
thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; Then thine heart be
lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt,
from the house of bondage; Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, [wherein were]
fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where [there was] no water; who brought thee forth
water out of the rock of flint.
Ephesians 6:11
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Hebrews 2:18
For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
James 1:12-17
Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown
of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted,
I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every
man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived,
it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved
brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father
of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Luke 11:14
And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone
out, the dumb spoke; and the people wondered.
Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh
[is] weak.
I Peter 5:6-11
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist
stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that
are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ
Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].
To him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
II Peter 2:9
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the
day of judgment to be punished.
II Peter 3:17
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know [these things] before, beware lest ye also, being led away
with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things
[are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are]
of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
Psalms 1:1-6
Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of
sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD;
and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers
of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly [are] not so: but [are] like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the
ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For
the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalms 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if [there be any]
wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Revelation 21:7
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
II Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep [you] from evil.
I Timothy 6:9
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful
lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
